For instance, the egg represents the birth of the baby girl and all hardships her mother has to go through. The larva stage symbolizes the childhood of a girl, taking into account all the problems she has to experience at school and in family life. The pupa stage symbolizes the limited girl, much like how a larva is encased by a chrysalis. The third stage is that of an adult, posturing the woman to have finally bloomed. When making this collection, I solely relied on the use of various kinds of fabrics and colors to accurately depict the life cycle of the butterfly. Though these phases are aware of all men and women, challenging was the material selection, as the use of variety would ensure that each piece distinctly reflects its respective stage in not only the life cycle but also in a woman’s life journey-a way of uplifting the mood and describing the spirit of each phase.
