During the Victorian era, women had a magnificent wardrobe full of spectacular gowns. The Queen set the style for wearing scarlet and gold tunic, riding skirt and plumped hats. She was considered very fashionable for her times. She gave two traditions that have continued till date in most western countries. White for a bride on her wedding day. Before that, women would get married in their best dress or (frock) and black for mourning, as she started the trend when her husband died.
The designers were inspired by her fashion sense and the different fashionable styles like the necklines, sleeves, hourglass corsets, v-shaped gown, jewellery, the list goes on. Though the Queen was short and plump, she knew to style herself. She used to wear garments of fabrics like silk, velvet, soft lace, satin etc. Another major inspiration was her iconic jewellery pieces.
‘All Hail the Queen,’ is a women’s wear collection that consists of formal wear dresses for evening occasions, portraying elegance and class, as Queen Victoria did.
