Interior Design Aspirants Showcase Their Visual Merchandising Skills
Visual Merchandising is an integral part of the design industry. It is a way to bring focus to your product by highlighting the key features of it in a lucrative way. The domain understands consumer psychology and uses a range of physical elements to showcase a brand’s image.
Moreover, visual merchandising includes various aspects in which window display is a prominent part of it. Recently, the interior design aspirants pursuing their Master’s degree from JD Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore showcased their visual merchandising skills via a display.
The interior design aspirants took up various renowned brands and curated a window display for the labels. Students opted from Zara, H&m, Daniel Wellington and other brands and based on a theme of their choice arranged the entire space accordingly. The interior design students chose themes like festive season, roadway to future, cocktail evening and more and presented their styling aesthetics.
All the mentors and students from different departments visited the academic exhibition and tried understanding the concepts of our future interior designers. The interior design aspirants interacted with the visitors and answered their queries. They also highlighted the sustainable angle of their design and how they have prepared the entire display in a short span of time with the resources available to them.
Window display of footwear, jewellery pieces, watches, clothing line and more was done by the interior design students who also read the entire brand value and incorporated it in their styling knowledge. They gave a fresh outlook for the stores according to their reading of consumer psychology.
The display of students’ work was conducted under the guidance of mentor Ms Smrutiseema Nayak. During the grand display, mentors, faculty and other students actively visited and interacted with the aspiring interior designers.
