The inspiration is about the traditional weaved wrap around fabric belonging to Garo  tribe of Northeast India. The fabric is hand woven by the ladies of the tribe by assembling 1000s of yarns onto the weaving loom and the motifs are inserted one thread at a time. The untapped potential of the motif inspired the designer. Her artisan Meralin S Sangma uses a traditional fabric called dakmanda which is available in various vibrant colours and the fabric can be further transformed into a wearable garment to resurface the traditional attire which have existed for generations but have gone unrecognized.
