An alumni of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, designer Dhiraj Deka have been working with the traditional handloom fabric of Assam for quite a long time, thus bringing in the magical thread craft of Assam to mainstream fashion. He started his professional career as a fashion designer, at a garment export house in Gurgaon and then was in Mumbai for five years. Later in the year 2006, he returned to Assam, travelled to the interiors doing extensive researches on various silks, organized fashion shows & exhibitions in India and abroad promoting craftsmanship and fabrics of Assam. In the year 2009 he   set up his own designer brand Bibhusaa in Guwahati , under the banner of “Niru garments”. His passion and love for these fabrics like Muga, Eri and Pat, is seen in the creativity of his magnificent collection with the help of modern technology. He has given a new dimension to the garments made from these fabrics. All his garments retain the traditional yet contemporary essence.His professional excellence in maintaining the quality, durability, wearability and comfort level of the products has been well received by the global fashion buyer.His collection has been showcased in more than 50 prominent Shows, including prestigious London Fashion Week.
