The collection draws its inspiration from the work of master photographer Edward Burtynsky. His photographs engage the observer through what the artist refers to as a “duality” in the viewing process, captured effortlessly with digital prints, velvet patchwork and asymmetric piping. In Burtynsky’s aesthetic interpretation, his images render the subject most often in rich colour, detail, and textural qualities. The same is interpreted in the collection through shades of blue and grey, and dark brown with a textural play of fabrics such as cotton viscose, chambray, and velvet.

Titled “Bold and beautiful”, the collection is a gripping tale of high fashion Glamour, Honour and most importantly the Attitude. Inspired by the masculine structure, unique style of Harley Davidson and aspects such as royalty, power and boldness of Knight Armour, the collection uses details such as zipper stripes, metallic rivets, buttons, studs, and highlights in a tough fabric story of leather, ship-Napa, goat softy and denim.

The Spring summer 2015 collection takes its inspiration from cherry blossom. Known as “Sakura” in Japanese, the Cherry blossom trees are common in Japan and are an integral part of native Japanese culture. The garments beautifully depict the shapes of cherry blossom flowers and structures of cherry blossom trees. The designer has painted the prints herself on different fabrics like taffeta organza and Chinese silk to create a range of contemporary pieces such as jackets, dresses, skirts, trousers.

MET Gala or MET ball is an annual event to raise funds for the benefit of Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York.  A star-studded celebration of sorts, every year the opening of the Costume Institute’s fashion exhibit is attended by actors and actresses, socialites, fashion designers, etc. The exclusivity of this event lies in the idea of thematic exhibits. The themed exhibition sets the mood for this glamorous event as the guests assemble in their ensemble complementing the theme.
