‘A mother is a walking miracle’, they say. We couldn’t agree more. A mother is also born the day a baby is born. She is as new as the baby to this world. Despite that, she is a know-it-all. It is mother’s day – that day of the year we get an opportunity to honour our mothers for the eternal love and constant affection they shower on us.

It seems like yesterday you were born and your mother held you in your arms, not letting go of you because she was scared you would fall down and harm yourself. Can you draw a parallel to a mother’s love? Absolutely not. If there’s anything a mother’s love can be associated with, it is nature. Nature, on the other side, is the mother who bore the birth of humanity on her shoulders. Nature is the mother and humanity, her baby.
Nature is habitually compared to a mother, and vice-versa. It is said that nature is a personification of a mother, which is why nature is often referred to as mother nature. Try to remember the number of times we as children have done something that our mothers told us not to do. Do you remember what always happened later? Our mothers might have scolded us at that moment, but she always came back to us giving her warm hugs and kisses just to make us feel better. Nature might not be able to give us her hugs and kisses, but she has always been our protector and nurtured us to become a better version of ourselves through the boundless resources she has offered us. Nature also gets angry, just like a mother. Floods, famine and scorching heat during summers are her way of saying we have been bad children. However, her ways of showing her anger on us are justified.
Nature is a personification of a mother
While mother nature gives us oxygen to breathe and a piece of land to survive, a mother gives us an identity and nurtures us with food that helps us survive. What makes the two special? It is the ability of nature and mother to bear all the pain we cause due to our actions. It is in the very soul of a mother and nature to forgive and this quality makes them unmatchable and incomparable to any other entity on this planet.
A mother is the epitome of love and affection. She is no less than an army when it comes to guarding her baby and her family against any negative force. Mother’s day 2021 has arrived. It is our time as children to honour her and make her feel special and bring a priceless smile to her face. Although humanity has been agonizing over the pandemic that is taking the lives of millions of people, let us not allow the pain and suffering to stop us from sending mothers day messages to our mothers.
