Workaholics – Curator – JD Annual Design Awards 2019 – Interior Design
Designer Renjen Pavithran’s conceptual space is a Workaholics which is designed as a co-working space.
Co-working spaces always have been the cost-efficient way of working. But the concept of sharing your space with a handful of strangers are always been scary. But the importance of these open spaces and its relation to productivity has been recognized by the multinational giants including Google and Facebook from long back. This concept inspired our designer Renjen Pavithran to come up with this co-working spacecalled Workaholic.
The designer Renjen Pavithran’s conceptual space aims to achieve a creative space where one can crack open a book and get lost in a good story, the smell of freshly brewed coffee, the grinding sound of and just a very flamboyant yet peaceful environment to work. Space is designed over an area of 3116 sq. Space has been divided smartly into different categories of spaces. The furniture that is designed in-house helps one calm down and work comfortably. Each workspace can be convertible into a more private cabin/desk if required. The design of the partition is one of a kind and will be a suitable answer to real-world requirements. Space has been designed keeping an ethical value and also helps the people in sharing these values with the world around. Space friendliness and communications between these spaces are one of the key factors of this design. The two most innovative elements in this project are the partitions between the workspaces and the relaxing beach style chairs that helps one immerse themselves into a completely different vibe or feeling. The idea of zero wastage during the construction phase and making various decorative products by upcycling materials can be one of the reasons that add to the sustainability of this space.
