“REVIVING THE ART”

Bapu’s Threads Fall/Winter collection 2025, Bapu’s Threads, the winner for the Best Design Collection Award, “Bapu’s Threads” is about identity. It merges heritage with rebellion, tradition with urban energy. It gives today’s youth a way to wear their culture, not as something fragile or outdated, but as something bold, oversized, and alive.

At the heart of the collection is the art of Sattiraju Lakshminarayana (Bapu), whose Telugu style illustrations—graceful, minimal, and deeply expressive—captured the essence of womanhood and storytelling. His delicate line drawings, once still on paper, have now been transformed into living fashion. Through machine embroidery, those fine strokes become textured motifs. Telugu script, floral borders, and traditional ornaments find new life on hoodies, jackets, and denim. Oversized silhouettes provide the perfect canvas, merging urban rebellion with cultural narrative. Every garment feels less like clothing and more like a story you can carry.

This recognition is more than an accolade—it’s proof that fashion rooted in storytelling can create ripples in the present. Reimagining the delicate, women-centric line art of Sattiraju Lakshminarayana , the collection transforms his visual poetry into wearable statements. Each piece becomes a pause in motion—a chance to reflect, to carry heritage into today’s streets, and to walk boldly into the future.

BAPU’S THREADS

PAUSE, ‘Prioritising a Unique Sense of Ease’, “Bapu’s Threads” speaks to a generation that refuses to let heritage fade. It celebrates identity, rebellion, and pride. It proves that culture can move with us —not as nostalgia, but as bold, oversized self-expression.

“Bapu’s Threads” is not just styled—it’s storied. A revolution in thread. A tribute in form. A culture, now in motion.
