About Course
The Web Design & Development Professional Certificate Program is a full-time, one-year course designed to provide a strong foundation in both the creative and technical dimensions of modern web design. Developed for students, aspiring designers, and semi-professionals looking to enter the digital industry, the program offers a structured curriculum that blends visual design principles with web development best practices. It is divided into two semesters and combines classroom learning with project-based assignments, helping learners build a comprehensive skill set aligned with industry needs.
Mon-Friday (3hrs)
Course Overview
In the early stages of the course, students focus on the fundamentals of UI/UX design, including layout design, typography, color theory, wireframing, and usability. Using professional tools like Figma, Adobe XD, students will learn to create high-fidelity mockups, responsive prototypes, and user-centered design solutions. Emphasis is placed on building aesthetically pleasing and intuitive digital interfaces, as well as conducting user testing and client presentations to prepare students for real-world design workflows.
As the program progresses, the focus shifts to front-end development, where students build dynamic, responsive websites using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Advanced topics include responsive web design, DOM manipulation, CSS frameworks (such as Bootstrap), and JavaScript libraries like jQuery. The course also introduces modern development environments and tools, including React.js for building component-based web applications. Students gain an understanding of Git and version control, enabling them to collaborate effectively in team-based settings and deploy live websites using platforms like GitHub, Netlify, and Vercel.
To provide a broader perspective of web development, students are introduced to basic back-end concepts, such as Node.js, REST APIs, and server-client interactions, enabling them to understand full-stack functionality. By the end of the program, students will have developed a professional portfolio featuring a range of projects from single-page websites to interactive web applications demonstrating their ability to combine design thinking with technical execution. This course opens pathways to roles in front-end development, UI/UX design, web production, and digital content creation, empowering graduates to confidently step into the evolving web and tech industry.
