Betta Fusion By Pavan Sai Ram Medinti, Laxmi Prasanna Maisa, Shyamala Kamuju

Diploma in Fashion Design

At the JD Design Awards 2025, Pavan Sai Ram Medinti, Laxmi Prasanna Maisa, and Shyamala Kamuju present Betta Fusion, a collection that blends the daring vibrancy of Pop Art with the graceful movement of Betta fish fins and the precision of geometric forms. The work explores contrast and duality—strength and softness, chaos and control—while reflecting the theme “Pause – Prioritize A Unique Sense of Ease.”

The Betta fish, admired for its fluid fins and fierce nature, serves as the central inspiration. Much like the fish, the collection expresses both beauty and aggression, merging structured tailoring with free-flowing drapes. This balance creates silhouettes that feel dynamic yet grounded, celebrating individuality and freedom.

The color palette embraces bold Pop Art shades—fiery reds, cobalt blues, acid yellows, and vibrant pinks. These hues highlight intensity, rebellion, and creativity, giving each garment a powerful presence. The colors bring life to the pieces, capturing motion and energy even in stillness.

Fabrics and forms strengthen the dialogue between structure and flow. Geometric panels emphasize control and precision, while layered elements echo the movement of fins, adding grace and lightness. This contrast defines the collection’s unique identity.

Ultimately, Betta Fusion reflects the philosophy of pause—inviting wearers to embrace their contradictions, balance boldness with calm, and move with fearless ease. It is fashion as expression: unapologetic, vibrant, and alive.
