“Sukoon” this Project is designed by Sana P, student from Diploma in Interior Design at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Kochi and celebrates an innovative interior design project on a 6,000 sq. ft Kerala–Turkish fusion spa and café located in Kochi, India.

SUKOON is a 6,000 sq. ft Kerala–Turkish fusion spa and café located in Kochi, India, envisioned as a wellness destination that blends the soulful rituals of Turkish hammams and the ancient healing wisdom of Kerala Ayurveda into a serene, immersive retreat where the concept of pause is reflected through every curve, texture, and detail—inviting visitors to slow down, reconnect, and experience stillness through culturally rooted spaces such as handcrafted therapy rooms, a symbolic Seljuk star-shaped plunge pool, and a cozy café inspired by Istanbul tea houses and Kerala courtyard hospitality, catering to working professionals seeking renewal, tourists exploring cultural wellness, elderly individuals needing gentle therapy, and families or couples looking for connection.

while offering a design language shaped by terracotta textures, rattan furniture, kilim fabrics, Iznik tiles, tulip forms, and symbolic elements like the Nazar eye—each carefully integrated into the interior architecture, spatial zoning, and sensory experience through natural ventilation, sustainable materials, and thoughtful lighting design, with wayfinding inspired by Turkish patterns and Kerala motifs to guide users effortlessly between spa and café zones, all while reflecting the core values of handcrafted calm, universal accessibility, and cross-cultural storytelling in a space that is emotionally engaging, mentally soothing, and visually rich—where the sound of flowing water, the softness of marble, the scent of herbal oil, and the glow of mosaic lamps together create not just a spa, but a poetic environment of belonging and healing, offering more than just services or luxury but a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and be, making SUKOON a cultural sanctuary where the earthy warmth of Kerala meets the poetic stillness of Turkey in a seamless, symbolic, and deeply personal spatial experience.
