Now, we’re stepping into a new era. We’re proud to announce the launch of an all-new category: Digital Design Experience, which will debut as part of our academic and creative showcase calendar next year.

This is more than just a new course or department—it’s a bold leap into the dynamic and rapidly evolving world of digital storytelling, immersive technologies, and interactive design.

Why Digital Design Experience?

In a rapidly evolving virtual world, the lines between the digital and the physical are blurring. Today’s designers are not only being called upon to be verbal communicators but also to be digitally literate. They’re crafting experiences from the jaw-dropping graphical effects we see on the screen to virtual and augmented realities’ mimic worlds.

We witnessed this transition unfold and realised the time was appropriate to reinvent. Our answer to this new reality is the Digital Design Experience category. It’s an exhibition that will shine a light on the best in five exciting verticals: VFX (Visual Effects), Animation, Multimedia, Web Design, and Immersive Design.

Regardless of film animation, game world, or an augmented reality screen, this category will honour innovation that is pushing the limits of storytelling and visual interactivity.

What to Expect

The Digital Design Experience category will be an interactive demonstration of industry and student imagination that considers more than the screen. The participants will be encompassed by the richness of today’s digital tools and storytelling models. Work can vary:

• High-concept film and video VFX shots
• Character-driven animation with bespoke characters and world-building
• Multimedia installations incorporating sound, video, and interactivity
• Future-web and UI/UX design
• Immersive experiences based on AR, VR, and MR technologies

This is an opportunity for next-generation creatives to experiment with new things, learn from their peers, and produce portfolios that are not just industry-ready but industry-leading.
