Interior’s Workspace is not just a co-working space—it’s a thoughtful rethinking of what modern workspaces can and should be. Conceived by Maegan Cressie D’Costa, a BSc Interior Design graduate, this project combines the gritty appeal of industrial design with the therapeutic potential of biophilic design. The outcome is a space that’s as much about design as it is about being emotionally resonant.
Designer Brief
In its nature, Workspace in Interior relies on flexibility, inclusiveness, and human comfort. Maegan is able to harmoniously combine naked materials such as metal and concrete with natural warmth, greenery, and an abundance of natural light. These seemingly disparate components exist together in a state of equilibrium to produce a leveled atmosphere which encourages focus, creativity, and wellness.
The design responds to actual needs. From quiet focus work, collaborative huddles, or social hangouts, the space is zoned and equipped to accommodate multiple work styles. Modular pieces are easily swapped out to respond to changing needs, and smart acoustic solutions manage noise without sacrificing openness. It’s an office that is as beautiful as it is functional in the best possible way.
The aspect that makes this project so compelling is that it’s centered around the senses. Maegan does not merely create for the visual sense—she integrates touch, sound, and even scent into the experience. Rough wood surfaces, tactile materials, ambient noises, and even natural fragrances from plants are all part of a soothing, multi-sensory environment that is vibrant and intimate.
Interior Workspace shows that productivity and happiness need not be mutually exclusive. By combining industrial courage with natural tranquillity, Maegan has created a space where humans can thrive—mentally, emotionally, and professionally.
