It’s a time of year when streets are filled up with holiday lights, Christmas trees are decorated months in advance, cribs with nativity scenes are constructed, and homes and offices look like one big party sphere. Around the world, people are jubilant and passionately celebrating it. Every country has its own traditions for celebrating Christmas. Among the more well-known customs are the giving and receiving of gifts, the decorating of Christmas trees, Santa Claus outfits, the construction of Christmas wreaths, the writing of Christmas cards for loved ones, the hanging of Christmas stockings, the lighting of candles, and the singing of carols.
On December 23rd, we as a JD family celebrated Christmas at JD Institute of Fashion Technology Cochin where students of all the departments participated in the most joyous and frolic way. Director South Ms Sandra Agnes and Student mentor of Academy of Design and Management Cochin Mr Anu Antony was part of the event where they encouraged our students by spreading joy , with the entire event based on the Home Alone theme tagging the event with the name of ugly sweater pyjamas, the dress code was of red, green checks or plain attires where the campus was completely decorated by our students with cotton for a snow effect and foil garland were used as Christmas trees, with decorations including balloons, Christmas banners, Christmas hats, Christmas photo booth, Santa Claus, Red, white, green chart paper, Markers, along with a variety of games and activities like Cup flip, Pin the nose on the deer, Christmas dumb charades, and Slam a snowman. A treasure hunt by faculties was organized for the students with a Christmas dance playlist where students were divided into 4 groups and set to hunt as per the clues provided to them. The event was concluded with a DJ party in which all of the students and faculty members thoroughly enjoyed.
