H&M opens its doors in Kochi!
The Swedish retail giant, H&M opened its doors at Prestige TMS Square, Cochin in November 2019. As one of the prominent design institute’s in India; the Cochin branch of JD Institute of Fashion Technology received an invite for the grand opening of the first H&M store in Kerala.
The opportunity to experience the inaugural opening of the multinational retail store was also extended to the students of the institute. This provided them with a first-hand experience to witness the various facets of the store and gain a better understanding of a multinational retails space. Spread across 65,000 square feet, the store houses the latest collections across ladies, men, teenagers, and kids wear categories. They got to observe the different garments on display, feel the fabric, make, range of collections, etc. As part of their opening, the guests were handed over gift coupons by the brand and our students too were lucky to receive the same, much to their delight.
The students were able to not only enjoy window shopping but also gain some lessons along the way. This was also an imperative study beyond the confines of a classroom wherein they benefited by observing consumer behavior and hype around the brand. It was a fruitful exercise for the students and a day well spent.
