Installations based on Art out of Waste by ADFD 2015 Batch

The students of JD Institute of Fashion Design have made attempt to creatively combine non-biodegradable plastic wastes with fashion under the theme “Art out of waste” for the cause “Conserving the environment” that currently needs a desperate, revolutionary step to be taken from all the fields.
Group 1 students interpreted the theme, in a different way using materials like balloons, spoons, straws and bubble wrap and blended them into a garment with which the entire silhouette was formed, yet the materials used were shaped and combined into petals, making the waste plastic and rubber of balloons, almost unrecognizable. The backdrop was designed using straws and bubble wrap which was the unique combination of textures, making it interesting.

Group 2 had used Technological waste like, CD’s , wires and keyboard keys in order to embellish a plain black strapless dress to bring about a balance as well as to emphasize on the uniqueness in the combination & placement of the keys and CD’s . The garment was a perfect example of aesthetic usage of Technological wastes as embellishment, which was also supported by an interesting props in the installation made of similar materials.
