AN INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE 1

The students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Cochin went on an industrial visit to the Golden Triangle – Jaipur (Rajasthan), Delhi and Agra in December 2019.

The first stop was Jaipur, where the students explored Albert Hall Museum, one of the oldest museums. The museum is steeped in architectural and art history with exclusive collection of artifacts, objects and other forms. The next day started by visiting Ricco industrial area where students went through the production process and embroidery techniques. They also visited Bhagru to witness Ajrak and Bagru natural printing and dyeing techniques. The evening was spent at Chokhi Dhaani, a Rajasthani resort which was a gateway to the rich Rajasthani heritage and culture.

The entourage also visited Amber Fort and Nahargarh Fort, whereas the evening was spent at Baapu Bazar and Nehru Bazaar for some retail therapy for authentic Rajasthani products.

The next stop of the industrial visit was Delhi. The students and faculty explored Harper store, known to house sustainable fabrics and indulged in some shopping. They also visited Epicuria mall and Nehru place for get a glimpse of various stores, fabric shopping and source different variety of materials.

Apart from retail therapy, the students and faculty also visited Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar and Dastar.  They also visited the well-known culinary delight of Delhi, Karim’s and local shopping at the well-known Sarojini Market. The visit to Mehrauli was another exciting affair wherein they also attended a nature bazaar, which hosted an exhibition on sustainable products.

AN INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE

The students received an opportunity to visit two of the well-known malls in Delhi, DLF mall and DLF Emporio. Two different sets of malls experiences, one that has everything for different price range, whereas the other is a luxury mall that houses international brands respectively.

A visit to Delhi then leads to Agra which is every tourists delight to watch one of the biggest tourists’ attractions and wonders of the world.  The students and faculty visited the symbol of love, the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort.

The visit to the Golden Triangle was a feast to the senses and a lesson in history, arts and culture, fabrics printing and dyeing. The trip served the purpose of fun along with it being an educational and inspirational sojourn that will help them in their future creative pursuits and a reminder that every part of the country has something unique to offer.
