An interaction about Style betwixt LEE India and JEDIIIANS, LEE Jean’s part of VF Corporation, based in the USA, a company formed in 1889 by Henry David Lee, believes in a lot of customer research and product development trying to understand the youth and thereby serving the customers with the best. LEE Jeans always felt there was a gap and decided to make a change about it, that’s when they decided to do a conversation through “style a star and be one”. A conversation to understand how youth adapt to fashion change, their ideas and evolution of style among youngsters. So, when Ms. Aditi Toley, head of Marketing for Lee Jeans called JD Institute of Fashion Technology, a pioneer in fashion education to be part of the style event we were very thrilled to be part of it.
JD Institute is the first fashion institute in India to do the event for LEE Jeans, the task JEDIIIANS had was to style the models with all the available apparels and accessories in the store, making a style statement, all the style statements will be sent to the famous Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez and she will choose the look which she likes from the lot and the winner will get to style her.
The JEDIIIANS are always thrilled to be part of such events, Aishwarya one of our JD Fashion student said, “these kind of activity gives them that extra knowledge of fashion buying, forecasting trends and can be used in their journey of Fashion”. The entire day was well spent by the students inside the LEE store giving the models different looks and uploading it. The students were very passionate and was zestfully bustling, they were loving the entire activity and wasn’t satisfied with one look and was looking out for more options to style their model.
Another JEDIIIAN, Meghal said she loves doing exploration and experimenting style and added she loves that JD does these kinds of riveting activities which makes them prepare to survive the fashion industry. The students were competitive and trying to give the best, but they were having lots of fun, getting inspired from other students and cerebrating.
The marketing manager for Lee Jeans, Ms. Aditi was surprised and amazed with all the styling options that our students were providing, she said she was beatific choosing JD institute as the pioneers for this style conversation. She added that Lee jeans would look for more interesting collaborations with JD Institute in the future. LEE Jeans uploaded all the images for the contest, gave our students LEE Tee’s as an appreciation for all the efforts they have done.
We were proud of our students and was very content for all the zeal and eagerness they showed for the activity. The style event which happened on 15th November 2017 was for a day with more than 40 JD students participating and making it successful. We were personally happy to see that major fashion brands are coming with compelling ideas like this giving the young fashion aspirants not just a platform to showcase their skills but also the confidence to be future fashion stars.
