December was filled with glamour and practical knowledge from The Iconic Walk with Lulu – Face of Lulu 2025. It provided JD students with a valuable exposure to the reality of the fashion world. Whether it is the backstage work of being a crew member or walking the catwalk confidently as a participant, JD students felt the rhythm of a major fashion event.

Adding to the grandeur, the alumni designers from the JD organisation displayed their exquisite designs on the runway, and it was a celebration on the runway with homegrown talent and evolution. Alumnus designers coming back as professionals in the industry, with current students training under the same environment they wish to exist in, was a feeling to cherish.

The event passed with the perfect amalgamation of creativity, confidence, and collaboration, emphasising JD’s love for teaching beyond the classroom and imparting knowledge necessary for the Fashion World.

Redefining Design Education in India: JD Institute Receives the “Institute of the Year 2025” Award

December was also filled with a historical feat, where the JD Institute, fueled by the vision of the JD Institute of Fashion Technology, was conferred the award for “The Future of Design Education – Institute of the Year 2025” at the prestigious EDex Awards.

It is a recognition that is timely, as the design education sector of India is undergoing a radical metamorphosis—itself incorporating technology, sustainability, and craftsmanship equally. JD’s futuristic educational model, which is more industry-centric and designed to implement current realities, has been at the vanguard of this proposed change.

This award came at the onset of the university’s 2025 convocation at JD, both of which are proud celebrations of over 400 graduating students whose paths have been fueled by innovation, resilience, and award-winning projects within the disciplines of their chosen studies.
