News Publications such as Mana Telangana, ABN News, Telangana Tribune and many such papers accolade our Fashion Students from the Hyderabad Campus. They were complimented for the fashion festival they have organized for three days called Bunaai Utsav- Ek Ubharta Safar. This festival is taking place in three different venues for people to come visit from various parts of the city. Bunaai Utsav is a three day event wherein the fashion students are showcasing their garments inspired by Local crafts and traditional printing mediums along with a block printing workshop which is organized by the students This workshop is going to be held on March 13th and March 20th for all those interested in understanding how this method works and to take away a little piece of artwork with them.
Fashion Students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad have honed their skills learnt in every module and through their visit to Bogaram- A village of local artisans who have dwelved in Handwoven fabrics and traditional printing methods. Hindi Milaap talked about how the students have chosen a more sustainable course with block printing and Ikat as their printing mediums. They also accolade their efforts at hand draping each garment and showcasing their work in the form of multiple fashion shows in the Metro station.
The Pioneer mentioned the ramp walk that took place on 13th March 2022 within the metro train starting from Ameerpet Metro station. “Hyderabad Metro Rail passengers on friday enjoyed a live ramp walk and Fashion show organized with a mission to acknowledge the age old handloom textiles of Telangana and generate awareness about the contributors of the local community of weavers and craftsmen to this art.” says The Pioneer in their article dated 11th March 2022.
Various local newspapers such as ABN, Mana Telangana, Sakshi Telegu Daily, Hans News Service, and many such publications have talked greatly about the efforts of Fashion students and how the viewers thoroughly enjoyed each moment of the Fashion show organized by them. The news publications also mentioned the partnership of JD Institute of Fashion Technology with L&T Metro Rail for the Bunaai Utsav. Fashion Design students aim to spread awareness about the local artisans and how their art has lost its way through this Pandemic. They aim to uplift the artisan community through this initiative.
