Oriental Bleisure – Future Origin – JD Annual Design Awards 2017
Collection Name: Oriental Bleisure
Students Names: Aditi Sundar & Vidushi Mehta
Inspired by the oriental style of clothing such as the Hakama pant and pleated skirt, the collection Oriental Bleisure derives elements from the English patterns that are reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes’ style. The business leisure collection stands for homogeneity & encourages fusion of diversity through a narrative weave of East meets west delivering a strong multicultural trend. The collection also brings in the famed “zoot suits” and derives prints and colours from the blue city “Jodhpur”. The prints are created using thermochrome dyes that react to temperature. Fabrics modal, excel and soy have been used to make the garments for this collection. The hand-weaving is done by the Kodiyala weavers. The collection is presented by Aditi Sundar & Vidushi Mehta from B.Sc. Batch.
