PERSONAL GROOMING FOR PROFESSIONALS OF TOMORROW
Mr. Kishore Tharana, Head of Make-Up and Hairstyle Artistry at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore conducted a workshop on Personal Grooming for the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Cochin on 11th December 2019.
The purpose of the workshop provided an insight on the benefits of personal grooming detrimental to look presentable for an interview, presentations, how to stand out in a group or as an individual. Personal Grooming has a understated but powerful influence on one’s progress. It helps to build a lasting image of an individual based solely on appearance which gives out a message of professionalism, sophistication, credibility etc. Many do feel that a person should not be defined by looks alone, however one responds positively to someone who is well kempt as opposed to someone who is shabby. Since looks are a visual medium, not just clothes and make up but healthy skin and hair, clipped nails alongwith good smell send out a subconscious signal about the person.
A student volunteer was selected by Mr. Kishore Tharani to demonstrate the different methods of grooming one can adopt on a daily basis, even if one is pressed for time alongwith some useful tips and tricks. The workshop also incorporated an interactive session between the speaker and the students wherein some myths were busted and the students were informed about the various products that they need to adopt in their regime. Apart from the products they were also informed about the importance of overall personal hygiene, posture and conduct. He emphasised that grooming is not just limited to women but was also equally important for men as well.
The workshop was helpful, fun and knowledgeable which provided students with important insights that they need to imbibe in their daily routine.
