Sony workshop for Photography and Fashion Communication Students

JD Institute of Fashion Technology has been maintaining a strong industrial network with various brands to provide students the knowledge about the advancement in the field of technology. Photography being the primitive method of communication has evolved through the years. With the advanced technological features coming into the play, it is high time for the photographers to evolve to the next generation of mirrorless cameras.

Sony being the pioneers in the production of mirror-less cameras has created a revolution in the field of visual art. Fourteen years into the camera market Sony’s roots back to over a century. They have been dominating the market in the last 3 years with marvelous cameras like the A9, A7R III, and A7 III. The Sony A7 III was the best product of the year 2018 and was leading in the sales of full-frame cameras worldwide the same year.

The new generation of Sony cameras features 693 autofocus points, 11 frames per second burst mode (20 frames for A9), ISO which is expandable up to 204800, five-axis in-body image stabilization, dual SD card slots, weather sealing, an OLED electronic viewfinder, and Wi-Fi capabilities. The experts from Sony gave in-depth knowledge about how the camera functions totally different from a conventional DSLR. The switch from the manual performing into an entirely electronic phase was excellently narrated to the upcoming photographers.

A live interactive demo was performed where the students were taught how to handle the mirrorless camera and how easy it makes photography. With the conventional DSLRs are on the edge of becoming obsolete, it is high time for the photographers to have knowledge of the mirror-less technology. Since the photography course and fashion communication course students will be the future generation of photographers the workshop was very beneficial for them.
