Students of Fashion Design and Business Management get creative with their ITP Project

The students of Fashion Design and Business Management course at JD Institute Bangalore showcased their stunning existing home furnishing brands SS 20 collection for ITP 2nd term project. The first set of students presented a stunning living room collection the brand Good Earth taking inspiration from the chinar leaves of Kashmir. The storyline showed the shedding of leaves and the colour changing the autumn season which symbolic image of human emotions.

The second group of students presented a dining room collection inspired by India’s finest handcraft concept “Toda Embroidery” exclusively made by women of Toda people of Nilgiris for Fabindia. The concept beautifully presented the embroidery used by Red and Black threads with a white cotton cloth background. The fabulous collection included beautiful designs to the dining room with a stunning table cloth, table runner, table mat, napkin, curtain, and coaster.

The third group presented the Indian India Circus the home furnishing brand and applied the Mughals which they incorporated with Bangalore’s culture and authenticity. The group presented the beautiful storyline of Nur Jahan’s entire journey from entering in her royal ride to going back in the auto, visiting places and eating Dosa and Idli and going back with her husband. The prints were hand developed and then printed which makes it original and realistic.

The final group presented a stunning collection inspired from the Walt Disney where they presented a kid’s bedroom collection includes bed linen (bed sheets, pillow covers, cushion covers, blanket), wallpapers, curtains, floor cushion, toy box, and wall hangings. The group brainstormed all the upcoming Disney movies and selected ‘Toy story’ as our inspiration. The students have learned how to source how to use the techniques on the fabrics and also how to manage the colour combinations for upcoming seasons based on the customer requirements.
