The Autumn Leaf – JD Annual Design Awards 2015

Starting in late summer, many species of deciduous plants, including trees and shrubs, turn brilliant colours and shed their leaves. Titled, ‘The Autumn Leaf’, the collection draws its inspiration from the beauty of this natural occurrence and the same is captured in the garments through interplay of texture, colours and shapes.
The surreal textures of the dry leaves are depicted by crushing variety of silk fabric. The Crochet work in the garments effortlessly captures the dramatic and textural beauty of the inspiration. The blend of Silk and Crochet creates an interesting imagery of the autumn leaves.
In an autumn colour palette, details such as puffed sleeves and trousers with embellishments, further accentuates the organic nature of the collection.
