ALUMNI MEET, GREET AND FORMATION OF JEDIIIAN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore in an initiative to connect with their alumni and build a community to benefit both, the alumni and current students organized an alumni meet on 2nd October 2019 at their Brigade Road Campus.
The meet was presided over by Ms. Sandra Agnes, Director – South and Mr. Pramod Adhikari, Mentor – JD. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Ms. Sandra, Mr. Pramod along with Mr. Babu Rajendra Prasad, Principal – JD, Bangalore; alumni Mr. Ravi, Business Consultant, Mr. Deepak Vijay, renowned Photographer and Ms. Sithara Kudige, renowned Fashion Stylist.
Getting back to their alma mater not only created a sense of déjà vu but also helped them connect with their faculties and peers. Alumni from the batch of 1994 to the very recent graduates graced the meet.
Ms. Sandra and Mr. Pramod took on the dais to explain to the alumni the purpose of the meet, which will serve as a platform to connect with them and proposed the formation of the JEDIIIAN Alumni Association. The association will act as an independent body which will be wholly supported by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore. The initiative is to help build a community that will foster productive collaborations with the institute, association partners, participate in events organized or partnered by JD Institute and industry projects undertaken by the Institute itself. The association will also be beneficial to the current students who will get an opportunity to network and meet their predecessors, who can give them a first-hand experience and how to straddle through the demands of the current market place.
The JEDIIIAN Alumni Association will be built on three core values – Inspire to build a creative community to Influence future changemakers in order to Integrate a long lasting legacy. It will be created exclusively for the alumni, by the alumni.
They informed the alumni about the various laurels and milestones achieved by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore since its inception. It has further ventured into franchisee extension in the South regions. JD Institute of Fashion Technology has a total of 8 centers and strength of 5000 alumni.
Ms. Sandra and Mr. Pramod also announced a trip exclusively for the alumni on 25th September 2020. They have also created a job portal exclusively for JD students called – Creative Careers which is also open to alumni who seek opportunities. Since the past 3 years 300 companies have visited the JD campus and conducted campus interviews.
Since the vision is big, it needs dedicated leaders who will help to execute it and head the different departments of the Association. They encouraged any 5 alumni to nominate themselves. It will function like an independent body and will have yearly audits to present any sort of transactional activities to be completely transparent.
They further invited the alumni to attend the theme unveiling for JD Annual Design Awards in November 2019 and other opportunities that they can be a part of.
The meet was concluded with videos of some alumni who spoke about their experience and how the course benefitted from them in their current ventures. Post the meet, the alumni from various batches networked with each other and found common grounds to discuss about the same.
