Formal Flourish was designed by Pooja Jain and Pooja P Jain, students of Diploma in Fashion Technology July 2022 at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru for JD Design Awards 2023. The collection paid tribute to Motherhood through pregnancy.

The garments are formal maternity wear for working women that are adjustable and can be worn before, throughout, and after pregnancy, ensuring maximum wearability for the customer. The garments are sustainable, comfortable, and stylish to meet the needs of pregnant working women. The target audience for this collection are working women who are in different stages of pregnancy. These women will be looking for professional and stylish clothing that can be worn during and after pregnancy. The designs are comfortable and the materials are stretchy which can accommodate a growing belly. Adjustable features such as hidden zippers, elastic waistbands, or adjustable straps have been incorporated. The intent of the collection was to ensure the women feel confident about their body during this time. 

Each pregnant woman’s body and style preferences are unique, so it was important to offer a range of designs and sizes to cater to different tastes and needs. By combining comfort, style, and functionality, the young fashion designers wanted to create beautiful formal maternity wear that empowers and celebrates expectant mothers during special occasion.

The collection won the Most Innovative Collection Award.
