Graduation ceremony for the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore from the Degree and Diploma batches of Fashion Design and Interior Design was organised on 4^th December 2020 at The Rotary Club. The Chief Guests for the function were Mr. Nealesh Dalal, Managing Trustee – JD Educational Trust; Ms. Sandra Sequeira, Director – South; Mr. Zulfi Ali, Academic and Creative Director – South, Mr. Pramod Adhikari, Chief Mentor South and Mr. Babu Rajendra Prasadh, Principal.

The Graduation ceremony was awaited with anticipation by all the students. Though there was initial scepticism pertaining to the physical occasion, the uplifting of the lockdown and the travel provisions helped in initiating and organising the event. Safety protocols were adhered to the T for the ceremony. The excitement was palpable as it was the first major event involving our students’ post-lockdown.

Just like all auspicious functions, the Graduation ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our Chief Guests. The event progressed with a thoughtful address by Mr. Nealesh Dalal who provided a perspective to our students wherein he encouraged them to #RISEAGAIN and sieze the day. Ms. Sandra Sequeira, further boosted the morale of the students wherein she asked them to not be tied down by curveballs but rather march forth and achieve ones’ goals and dreams with a new vigour. Post the address by our Chief Guests the finale of the most important day for our students, their felicitation was carried out to cheering peers and proud faculties. The students were then led to take their pledge, wherein they vouched to uphold the values and dignity of their profession.

Though the mark of a graduation ceremony is the tossing of the cap, unfortunately this year round the same was not carried out. Instead of the customary gown and caps the students were directed to dress in white attire with coloured dupattas to signify their courses. The eventful day came to an end with students meeting their friends, batchmates and faculties. Visiting nostalgic memories, reminiscing about their times and lots of catching up, this day will be etched in their memories for a long time.

The Graduation Ceremony, recognises the collective efforts of our students in their respected streams. It is a transition in the life of the students wherein it affirms their passage from student life, to professional life.  As yet another set of batches graduate we are proud to have been instrumental in their journey from student-hood into their professional journey.
