JD Institute of Fashion Technology has been in the limelight by being the Education Partner for Mysore Fashion Week, showcasing its experimental collection “Heritage 2.0” from 13th to 15th March. The collection has been inspired by a futuristic vision of Karnataka, where traditional textiles such as Mysore Silk, Ilkal, Patteda Anchu, Molakalmuru, Udupi Cotton, Guledgudda Khana, etc., have been redefined in sculptured shapes, metallic forms, and architectural folds. Conceptually layered around themes of roots, ritual, royalty, rebellion, renaissance, and future, the collection culminated in “The Karnataka Constellation”, symbolising the evolution of heritage within contemporary fashion narratives.

Furthermore, there was the presentation of student designer Sanjana R’s “Raasika”, which was inspired by Ragamala paintings. It was a blend of the miniature art forms of Rajasthan and the textile heritage of Karnataka, depicting fashion as an art form that has the power to narrate stories.
