On February 8, 2020, the students of Diploma in Interior Design batch from JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Cochin, were taken on a site visit to ‘STORIES’, one of the largest lifestyle destinations for delivering holistic décor solutions as opposed to a regular ‘Furniture Store’. They are known for their sense of aesthetics and to fit spaces needs of Indian Homes.  They sign up with designers to make signature pieces than to just source them from a variety of manufactures.

‘Stories’ is the place where they believe in the wholeness of the tiniest of details. This was extremely helpful for the students to learn and experience a little more in detail about all Interior Designing.  Students realized the importance of, what lighting to choose that matches the theme with the more elaborate details like choosing the right carpet. They had a practical class about material survey and services, upholstery, hardware, stone and veneer, wall and glass treatments. Kalite – a home theatre brand and Turkey chandelier collection were also exhibited.

The students through the visit had an opportunity to get exposed to the most renowned, high class brands, to study the quality, understand the dimensions, new technologies and uses of all the products. They gained knowledge about the level of aesthetics that can be added to various designs and gained a lot of inspiration from the world class latest products.
