November’s Design Story 2025: A month of hands-on creativity, inspiring workshops, and immersive design experiences that shaped our November journey.

Villa Marie Value Added Program – Clay Tile Workshop:

In a meaningful collaboration between JD Institute Hyderabad and Villa Marie College. A hands-on session designed to deepen material understanding, this workshop introduced Villa Marie College

students to the properties, techniques, and interior applications of clay.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (3)An immersive value-added program that brought material knowledge to life. Through guided demonstrations and practical exercises, students explored how clay tiles are crafted, finished, and applied in real-world design environments. This value-added program not only enhanced material knowledge but also encouraged students to think creatively and technically, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (7)Woodcut Relief Printing Workshop:

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (15)This dynamic workshop guided students through the entire creative journey of woodcut relief printing from sketching designs and carving deep cuts into wooden blocks to inking and producing bold, expressive prints. Each step brought technique, patience, and artistry together, resulting in visually striking outcomes.

The session offered a hands-on understanding of traditional printmaking while encouraging experimentation and personal expression. By the end, students walked away with both skill and satisfaction! truly marking it as a successful art filled day.

Villa Marie Value Added Program – Texture Art Workshop:

Conducted under the Villa Marie Value Added Program at JD Institute Hyderabad, this immersive Textured Art Workshop offered students a deep dive into the art of creating dimension and visual richness on canvas. Through guided techniques and practical experimentation, participants learned how to build layers, manipulate materials, and craft striking textures that elevate any artwork.

These hands on sessions played a key role in enhancing creativity, material exploration, and innovative design thinking. The workshop concluded with a display of unique, beautifully textured pieces reflecting the students’ artistic growth and energetic engagement throughout the process.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (4) Site Visit – Chowmahalla Palace:

As part of the History of Interior Design curriculum, students embarked on an enriching site visit to the magnificent Chowmahalla Palace. The excursion offered a firsthand experience of Hyderabad’s royal heritage, allowing students to observe and sketch intricate motifs, patterns, and architectural details that define the palace’s timeless grandeur.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (17) By studying these historical design elements on-site, students deepened their understanding of traditional craftsmanship, structural harmony, and cultural aesthetics gaining valuable insights that bridge historical design principles with modern interior practice.

 Textile Appreciation Jury:

Showcasing the creativity and dedication of our DFD Jan 2024 and DFD June 2025 batches, the Textile Appreciation Jury highlighted the students’ complete journey through the world of textiles. From understanding fibers and exploring innovative materials to weaving their first structured forms, the display reflected both technical learning and artistic growth.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (9)Students also experimented with vibrant surface design techniques such as tie & dye, screen printing, and block printing! each sample demonstrating their ability to convert traditional methods into expressive design outcomes. More than just a fabric exhibition, this jury celebrated how structure transforms into design, and how technique evolves into personal expression. The collective work proudly stands as a testament to the skill, imagination, and hard work each student has woven into their craft.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (16)Global Fashion Insights:

JD Institute Hyderabad had the privilege of hosting Kayleigh White, College Admissions Tutor at the London College of Fashion, School of Media and Communications (University of the Arts London), for an exclusive and highly interactive session with our students. Her presence brought extraordinary energy to the room as she shared expert insights, Portfolio Development, academic pathways, and industry perspectives from one of the world’s most prestigious fashion institutions.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology Hyderabad (10)More than just an informative talk, the session opened doors to global opportunities, offering students clarity on international education, creative expectations, and the skills needed to excel. To spark hands on creativity, students took part in a unique activity. each picked a crumpled paper carrying someone else’s prompt and transformed it into a physical design element using only paper. This engaging challenge encouraged imagination, problem-solving, and spontaneous creative thinking, making the session both inspiring and deeply impactful. This is more than just a lecture! it’s a direct pathway to global opportunities!
