Dhanlakshmi, a B.Sc. Fashion and Apparel Design (2022 Batch) student, designed one of the standout ensembles. Inspired by the timeless concept of Solah Shringar, the garment reimagined traditional Indian bridal adornments through a contemporary Indo-Western lens. The flowing crimson gown symbolised love, strength, and auspiciousness, while the richly embroidered drape echoed the elegance of a traditional saree, preserving India’s textile heritage in a modern silhouette. The dramatic off-shoulder ruffled sleeves added confidence and contemporary flair, creating a striking balance between heritage and innovation. Rich embellishments, layered textures, and intricate detailing reflected the artistry of Indian craftsmanship, making the ensemble suitable for fashion showcases, festive occasions, and cultural celebrations. Completing the look was an exquisite handcrafted floral crown inspired by traditional Indian bridal elements such as the maang tikka, gajra, and royal floral adornments. More than just an accessory, it became the defining focal point of the ensemble, symbolising grace, femininity, and inner strength while seamlessly complementing the garment.

For another appearance at Mrs Globe 2026, the contestant wore a floral-inspired contemporary gown paired with another bespoke crown by Pooja Navalgund. The handcrafted headpiece enhanced the overall styling with delicate floral elements, shimmering crystals, and artistic craftsmanship. The accessory demonstrated how thoughtful design can transform an entire look, highlighting the importance of accessories in contemporary fashion.

Inspired by the grandeur of the Victorian era and Indian royal heritage, the garment fused structured European silhouettes with traditional Indian craftsmanship. The velvet corset bodice, embroidered shoulder cape, luxurious drapes, and intricate gold detailing reflected elegance and sophistication, while deep navy blue and maroon tones symbolised royalty and strength. Traditional embroidery, ornate borders, and handcrafted embellishments completed the regal aesthetic, portraying the image of a modern queen rooted in culture yet embracing contemporary fashion.
Participation in global platforms like Mrs Globe 2026 provides JD Institute students with invaluable exposure to real-world fashion, enabling them to work on live projects that demand creativity, precision, and innovation. From concept development and garment construction to accessory design and styling, such opportunities prepare students to confidently enter the professional fashion industry.
