STUDENTS OF JD COCHIN LEAVE A MARK AT MISS ASIA GLOBAL TITLE 2019
Students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Cochin received an opportunity to volunteer for the back stage activity and assist the participants at the 5th edition of ‘Miss Asia Global 2019’, held at Gokulam Convention Centre, Cochin on November 2nd, 2019. One of the finest beauty pageants organised from the House of Pegasus, founded by Dr. Ajit Ravi a well-known name in the fashion circles.
JD Institute of Fashion Technology provides learning opportunities for their students through associations with well-known key industry stalwarts. The platform provided to volunteer for Miss Asia Global 2019, helped students to work closely with people from different parts of the world and witness the intricate traditional authentic garments of the participants from their respective countries. This helped them to also understand different cultures, network with new people and build contact.
The intent of the beauty pageant held in sun-kissed Kerala, is to not only find the most beautiful and talented women from all over the globe, but is also a harbinger to promote the rich culture and boost the tourism sector. Sara Damnjanovic (Serbia) was crowned Miss Asia Global 2019 and Nguyen Thi Yen Trang (Vietnam) was crowned Miss Asia title winner. The first and second runners up of the pageant were Leeseul Kim (Korea) and Jeanyfer Ozbot (Philippines) respectively.
The students were ecstatic to work and learn about the nuances of working on a large scale production. This provided them with a newfound confidence that will hold them in a good stead for future projects.
