Designer Vimaljith K J’s collection, Cavaleiros means rider and was inspired by Motorbikes. The emphasis of the collection is to focus on safety along with style while riding. The designer has created a line of dual purpose riding jackets which come with detachable safety pads, which on being removed, act as casual jackets.

At the end of 2010 the usage of motorcycles increased and by 2013 most of youngsters had started using motorcycles for long rides. The adrenaline rush experienced while driving, is a high, that all youngsters want to achieve and the need to experience the thrill, makes the youngsters forego the basic safety measures. Hence it is imperative to use safety during rides. Riding jackets play a key role in keeping the riders safe during any accidents. The common colours associated with riding jackets are black and brown; however, the designer has created the jackets with a classic touch. The jackets are dual purpose which caters to style and safety. As most of the classic riding jackets are made from leather, a lot of biking enthusiasts are not able to afford one, as they are highly expensive. The designer created a range of affordable jackets by using rexine fabric which provides the classic look of a leather jacket and costs much less. The jackets have been fitted with additional paddings to ensure safety.
