Christmas is one of the most awaited time of the year across the globe, where families decorate their homes, loved ones shower each other with gifts, and the thoughtful help the needy. At JD Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore, ‘Christmas Mela’, an event organised to keep the spirit of the festive season vibrant was organised for all students and staff.
The Christmas Mela was held on the 22nd of December, just before the students began their end of semester break. The Mela was celebrated for one day, however the preparation for the same was a week long process. In order to make this event a huge success, the students and faculty have worked day and night on various projects and competitions that would build up to the big day.
Keeping in mind the COVID protocols and regulations passed by the Government on social gatherings at educational institutes, the event was held for a minimum number of audience, who followed social distancing and the rule of never taking their masks off. On the other hand, the participants and hosts of the event, kept their masks off only when on stage, in order to make sure their messages were clear.
The event began at 12:00 PM with stalls that sold various types of handmade products created by students and staff. From accessories and jewelleries to pani puris and cookies. A total of 10 stalls were held. These stalls were held by our ever creative students as well as ever motivating staff.
The event was followed by various programs that were participated by our students as well as faculty and staff. The practice for these programs were done vigorously over a period of one week, with no break and utmost dedication.
The Christmas Mela was a superhit among the JEDIIIANs. A day celebrated with all creative students from all departments of the Institute, with no barriers to creativity and talent. Although we are going through a negative time, it is always important to keep the people around us happy and carefree of what may come. Through this event, JEDIIIANs not only showed discipline to all COVID protocols, but also utilized these limitations at their best. JD Institute of Fashion Technology, always works towards providing their students with positivity and creativity with the union of various industrial exposures that will not only bring the knowledge of the professionals in the industry but also the aspiring designer themselves, to understand their capabilities and talents beyond books.
