Classroom learning finally resumes at JD Institute after reopening

Classroom learning resumed at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore after the reopening of the institute on 23rd November 2020 after 9 months of shut down. This was undertaken as protective measures to prevent the surge of COVID-19. We are extremely happy to have our students back on the campus. Since the pandemic still persists the institute has advised students and staff to adhere to protocol to ensure complete safety.

Though skepticism still persists education cannot be kept on the back burner. One has to #RiseAgain and adapt to the #NewNormal. As an educational institute it is imperative to be empathetic towards students needs and challenging curveballs. Hence teaching methodologies are aligned based on the need of the hour. Bearing the necessities in mind the institute has also ensured readiness of the various resources for smooth functioning.

The following are the steps taken by the institute:

Social Distancing
Sanitisers placed at the main entrance and at different levels
Temperature check before entry
Students have been divided into batches and made to occupy different rooms as precautionary measures inorder to avoid crowding.
Basic cleaning of the premises, common-rooms, classrooms, Labs, meeting rooms and washrooms.
Deep cleaning of staff-rooms, classrooms, labs and meeting rooms
Sanitisation/ Disinfection
Fogging of all outside areas, entrances, basements & boundary walls.

Compulsory face mask wearing, lack of which would not entertain entry into the institute.

Apart from the above mentioned the institute has also set up a COVID-19 testing camp in association with BBMP for students, teaching and non-teaching staff. Only once the test was done, were the students were allowed to resume classes. The institute has also set up a special COVID-19 committee has been introduced to track that the mandates are followed and address any queries by students and their parents.

Classroom learning has provided a sense of reprieve to a lot of students and their parents. Since some modules required practical classes. This also serves as a positive direction to help students beat doubts pertaining to education and their future. As an educational institute it is important to help students and its staff to look ahead and be brave.
