I’m Jeenal Chouwan, and my journey into the world of fashion started the moment I enrolled in the Fashion Design program at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore. Back in 2017, I didn’t fully realise just how much that decision would shape both my career and my confidence. Today, I’m working as a Sales Advisor at H&M in Bangalore — and every day, I get to live and breathe fashion in one of the most dynamic retail environments.

JD Institute wasn’t just a college for me — it was a creative playground where I discovered my potential. The faculty there played a huge role in that. They weren’t just teachers; they were mentors who believed in our ideas, gave us space to experiment, and helped refine our creativity into something meaningful. I always felt supported, even when I wasn’t sure of myself.

One of the best parts of studying at JD was how much the institute encouraged us to explore. Whether it was trying out bold new concepts in design or participating in college events, we were constantly pushed to think beyond the basics. And those experiences made all the difference when it came to building confidence — not just as a designer, but as a person.

The opportunities were endless — internships, exhibitions, and industry exposure gave me a sense of what the real fashion world looks like. That foundation has helped me thrive at H&M, where I now get to engage with customers, understand trends, and represent the very fashion I once sketched in class.
