JD Institute at the Fabrics & Accessories Trade Show 2018

As the domestic apparel industry is expected to double its growth in the next 5 years, and with the organized retail sector witnessing growth and expansion continuously, various trade shows execute a significant role in meeting the ever-demanding sourcing needs of the fashion value chain.

The Fabrics & Accessories Trade Show 2018 with its last 17 editions has entrenched itself as a brand and a vital cog in the sourcing and business networking cycle for the textile value chain. It has a proven track record of bringing the best suppliers from India and overseas. The F&A Show bridges critical gaps in the textile supply chain and provides a professional environment for suppliers and buyers to network and transact business.

The 2018 edition of the F&A Show was held on 9^th, 10^th, & 11^th March 2018 at KTPO Trade Centre, Bangalore. It provided an enhanced with all-around sourcing experience with a large number of exhibitors showcasing a colossal range of products and services. The exhibitors at F&A Trade Show included manufacturers and suppliers of apparel fabrics, trims, embellishments, and related services who showcased their merchandise to buyers from across the world.

The Product Mix

Fabrics:

An infinite selection of man-made, synthetic, natural and blended fibres was observed. Various innovative patterns in woven and knits for men’s, women’s and kid’s wear were showcased. A wide range of fine yarn-dyed shirting and suiting materials in wool, polyester-wool and polyester-viscose along with pure and blended linen, denim, cotton twills, high-end quality silks and highly embellished fashion dress materials were also put on exhibit. The immense variety of prints, embroidery and other surface ornamentations was displayed. Also, fabric finishes like anti-bacterial, stain-resistant, odour-free, and water-repellent for medicinal purposes were kept for interested buyers.

Trimmings & Embellishments:

All types of buttons; studs and eyelets; zippers and fasteners; laces and lace materials; ribbons; interlining; badges and labels; heat transfers; sewing and embroidery threads; sequins and beads; tassels; and many more were displayed creatively.

Lot of packing and display materials like hangers, clips, cellophane bags etc were also exhibited as these are the support material essentially required to successfully complete any order.

TREND PAVILION executed by JD Institute of Fashion Technology

JD Institute of Fashion Technology was invited to create a Trend Pavilion in the 2018 edition of F&A Tradeshow.

Massive research was done by the faculty members and to decode the fashion forecast trends for Spring Summer and Autumn Winter 2018 – 19. The trends were forecasted in terms of upcoming colours for the season, silhouettes, design directions, fabrics, trims and accessories, make-up & beauty. All these trends were put up in a form a college taking inspiration from the “Designer’s Idea Board”. It was appreciated by the designers, buyers and fashion experts who visited the trade show, and everyone found it very advantageous as they were able to come across all the future trends under the one roof.

The most innovative and creative design collections done by the students were displayed at the trend pavilion. Throughout these 3 days the designs were highly acclaimed by the industry professionals and designers who visited the trade show.

An art installation was also executed by the JD Team; this installation defined creativity as the whole composition was made only using the trims used in garment manufacturing industry.
