Surabhi Singh – Jury Video – JDADA 2019

JD Annual Design Awards is around the corner, the JEDIIIANS have just done with their External Jury. Surabhi Singh, an epynomous fashion Designer with 15+ years of industry experience, who was a part of the Jury panel for Fashion Department shares her experience about the entire collection.

Brief About the Theme

This year’s theme is Curator. We’re inspiring and guiding the design aspirants to become expert, obsessive and articulate curators of ideas you care about. The traditional definition of a curator is someone who takes care of a museum collection. The modern definition of a curator is someone who cares for something enough to study it, collect it, improve on it significantly and communicate it interestingly before an audience. A modern-day curator is a bridge between the idea he is passionate about and an audience eager to know more about the idea. He or she lives and breathes the cause. And the cause isn’t limited to the professional sphere. They actively live the philosophy. It enters all walks of life. That’s why they get the most creative, innovative and resonant ideas.

About Surabhi Singh

A Design Expertise with 15+ years of experience across retail and exports business. Yes thats Surabhi Singh !!!

Graduated as a Fashion Designer, Ms Surabhi has reached a long way. She has over 15+ years of experience in Apparel industry along with 10 years of experience in retail and online.  She has been leading innovation, launch of new products and product correction in the brands across Men, women and kids wear.

Currently Ms Surabhi is working as Head of design & VM at INMARK. With this she handels the entire Retail Experience of INMARK (Retail store identity, window design, retail apparel buying, front end staff trainings, store set up etc). She is also responsible for defining the aesthetics & concept for brand campaign shoots, marketing creatives and organizing marketing activities at the store.

Before that Ms Surabhi had Designed & executed- Virat Kohli’s brand ‘WROGN’ and Independently co-ordinated & executed Photo shoot for Miss India 2001 & MTV Vj’s.

Her forte in executing commercial-fashion design ranges for women’s western and ethnic wear, men’s casuals wear and kids wear. She has a keen eye on spotting trends and converting them into commercial design range.
