Aetherea Veritas is a collection which was presented during the JD Design Awards 2022. The designers behind this collection are Monica Mahala and Akshitha Ilal who are pursuing their PG Diploma from JD Institute of Fashion Technology. They have come up with the concept of divinity meets destruction where the two worlds are brought together in design forms.
The Designers have taken nature as a goddess and how it is destructed and manipulated by man made products like metal waste. They have taken the sentimental approach where they show the silhouettes as flowy to encapsulate the essence of divinity along with metal accessories to show the destructive part. For the collection, they did a lot of sourcing with scrap metal and came up with a unique concept. The fabric that is used in the collection was curated out of orange peel which was dyed in organic neem, tulsi and other natural materials. The designers opted for aluminium wires which are derived from cable wires and manufacturing industries.
The collection Aetherea Veritas is targeted to cater the styles of a celebrity. The collection is also wearable art which can be worn for museum visits, public shows and other events where the wearer wants to make a strong statement about saving nature from human activity. The designers with their attractive design want to showcase this collection on the Met Gala, various rescapet events, and on various celebrities.
In the collection, all the corsets and dresses are handmade by both the artists. In the future, the designers want to connect with different artists and want to give opportunities to them, bringing them recognition.
