JD Design Awards 2022 to witness the best of creativity established five different pathways for the designers. The design community from it picked up one pathway and worked on it to present the best of the year’s theme, Sync.

Tides of Magmis is a collection that was curated by designers Deekshitha B V, Husna Mehaboob, and Noor Sumayya on the vertical ‘Make a Statement’. The collection was to bring notice to the ever-increasing problem of ocean noise that is arising due to human activities.

Ocean noise is leading to the destruction of the marine ecosystem. The pressing issue obscures the natural hearing ability of marine animals and impacts the growth of other living organisms. To present the ocean noise in the apt way, the designers used patterns, colours and volumes. They went for helical patterns as it shows the sound waves.

Each garment of the collection had a wavy structure that shows the water waves and sound waves. The colours chosen for the collection were unconventional that presented the matter with seriousness. JD Design Awards always welcomes designers who think out of box and pushes them to realise their own potential.
