JD Design Awards 2022 challenged the creative minds to present inclusive designs that evoke a sense of unity amongst the audience. Moreover, with the theme Sync, the award event also encouraged the designers to take sustainable and eco-friendly pathways as well as be inspired by the art of different places.
Sarva Ayur is the collection that made its way to the award show. Curated by designer Suma Sudesh, the collection is one of a kind. Abiding by the theme of the year 2022, the designer incorporated sustainable fabric, eco-friendly dye that uses Ayurvedic herbs and plants to produce colour.
Moreover, through her beautiful design, the creative mind also focused on resurrecting the Kaavi art which has become extinct from its place of origin, Goa. This artform is native to the Konkan region and derives its name from the native language which means red. It is a form of mural art that is about intricate designs and natural elements.
The designer Suma Sudesh in her collection presented both menswear as well as womenswear. The structure of the garments were on the draping end and exuded comfort and rustic designs. The beautiful collection also got the Most Inclusive and Ethical Design Collection Award from the JD Design Awards 2022.
