From Campus to Canvas : April Highlights from JD School of Design Goa powered by Jd Institute of fashion technology
April at JD School of Design Goa was all about turning observation into craft, and inspiration into finished pieces. From first-year experiments to second-year showcases, the campus was buzzing with hands-on creativity.
From Observation to Creation – Fashion Thinking in Motion
Our first-year FAD 2025 students dove into the fashion thinking and design process module. The focus was simple: look closely at the world around you. Culture, environment, everyday moments became the starting point for sketches and concepts. It’s where raw observation starts becoming deliberate design.

Product to Process – Batch 2024’s Collaborative Showcase
The second-year fashion batch 2024 brought together everything they’ve learned so far. They explored fabric science through experimental weaves, translated concepts into digital brochures using CAD, and turned yarn and sleeves into innovative products. The journey wrapped up with stitched garments developed through PMT and GMT, blending technical skill with creative expression.

Lost in the Language of Art – Goa College of Art Visit
First-year interior design students spent a day at the Goa College of Art’s annual display. Every corner had a story, from observed techniques to the campus atmosphere. It was less of a field trip and more of an immersion into what makes art speak.

Stained Spectrum – Costume & Accessory Design
For the Art and Costume Appreciation module, DFD 2025 students explored stained glass as an accessory design inspiration. Each student translated their concept into a striking piece, displayed in thoughtfully curated unibox setups. The result was a celebration of color, light, and storytelling.

Styled Stories – BSC FAD 2023 Showcase

The BSC FAD 2023 batch presented a styling and accessory design display that played with materials, textures, and forms. Each piece reflected strong visual storytelling and styling innovation, proving that accessories can carry as much narrative as clothing.
Luxury in Neutrals – Visual Merchandising Exercise

DFD students took on luxury retail with a visual merchandising display inspired by Michael Kors. Using a refined beige and white palette, they curated product placement to capture the brand’s clean, elegant, timeless aesthetic. It was a practical lesson in how space, color, and composition tell a brand story.
Tradition Meets Design – Indian Aesthetics in VM
Another visual merchandising project celebrated Indian heritage. DFD 2025 students translated the richness of traditional jewelry and timeless sarees into curated display stories, bridging cultural roots with contemporary design language.
Young Designers Festival 2026 – In Association with JD School of Design Goa
April also set the stage for the upcoming Young Designers Festival 2026, with student work reflecting the school’s focus on experimentation and real-world application.
