When I first walked into JD Institute, I was unsure of what to expect. I had always been fascinated by fashion, but I didn’t know if I had the right skills to pursue it professionally. JD Institute, however, helped me realise that fashion design is not just about sewing and sketching; it’s about creativity, innovation, and understanding the world around you.

The BSc in Fashion Design program at JD was a perfect blend of theory and practice. The courses covered everything from textile science to the history of fashion, but the real magic happened in the studio. I remember the first time I picked up a pair of scissors and a piece of fabric, and it felt like I was creating something entirely new. The hands-on projects, assignments, and industry exposure gave me a deeper understanding of the design process and allowed me to sharpen my technical skills.

One of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences was the JD Design Awards. The theme for that year was “Sustainability in Fashion,” and I had no idea how to approach it at first. But after long hours of research, brainstorming, and working closely with my mentors, I managed to design a collection that embodied sustainability while staying true to my vision. The entire process taught me invaluable lessons in perseverance, creative thinking, and time management.

JD Institute didn’t just teach me design; it helped me develop a mindset focused on problem-solving and innovation. Today, as I step into the fashion industry, I carry these lessons with me, ready to face new challenges and create designs that tell a story.
