The Jury for Diploma in Interior Design November 2021 batch was conducted as an Open Jury Display where the batch students’ work was displayed and everyone in the college had been invited for the same. The display was the cumulative work display of all the modules of the First semester (Design thinking, Material sourcing, Drafting, Design foundation, Space design, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and V-Ray). It was conducted on 7th July, 2022, from 11.00 am to 04.00 pm. Students were very excited as this was their first jury and display of the semester. On the previous day they decided on the organization/arrangements of the work keeping in mind how they can display all the outputs. The outputs of the various modules were in a different medium in A3 size portfolio, scale model, prototype and Interior rendered views showing the skillset students developed by learning the new age software.

The students got remarks from not only all the jury members but also from the respective module mentors and heads of the department during the jury. As per the remarks, students have put in a lot of effort and hard work, but they have more potential and by polishing their communication and their presentation skills they can do even better.

The name of the Display was named ‘Wander’ – not all classrooms have 4 walls. The theme was chosen to focus on how learning doesn’t have to be constrained to a classroom (within 4 walls) but it can also be learned from observing nature and the world around us. The students learned that it is equally important to communicate their designs as much as the design itself. The feedback they got was insightful and helpful to them.
