Have you ever wondered who made your branded clothes? The Rubaan collection presented at JD Design Awards 2022 is your answer. This collection speaks about the partnership established between the wisdom of rural artisans and the skill of urban technical professionals.
For the Rubaan collection, the designers Gracy N and Jyothi Kothari chose to bring forth the future and sync it with the culture. They opted for Blockchain Technology that is said to be the future of information and communication. Blockchain technology also helps eradicate greenwashing, exploitation of rural craftsmen and creating transparency in the supply chain.
“Our blockchain technology creation will assist in verifying the authenticity by scanning a QR code. SYNC the rural handicrafts using this technology. We initiate this collaborative future where rural craftsmen will be an exquisite asset rather than a commodity”, said the designers when asked about their design concept.
The collection consists of ten garments with a colour palette of blue and white. Each of the attire has a unique feature that highlights the futuristic world. The attire is carefully curated with jigsaw patterns on it. The designers opted for handloom fabric to create this collection of JD Design Awards and highlight the beauty of cultural ethics.
