Pepe Jeans India in association with Marc Robinson launched the 1st student edition of Pepe Jeans London Fashion Designer Awards 2023. It’s a fashion designing competition in which the students from prestigious colleges across India will be taking part in it. JD School of Design powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore and its other centers are also taking part in the event. It gives a bigger platform for the students to showcase their design talent, where students get to unleash their creativity and reach out to the world with their designs.
The vision of this show is to recognise the next generation fashion designers and to provide a platform to connect them to the real world of fashion. It is a huge opportunity and a great exposure for students where they will also get to interact with esteemed jury members.
This year’s theme is Blue Nation which empathizes with serenity, stability, inspiration, wisdom and sustainability. The colour of London and the colour of Denim, Blue is the perfect balance between style and monotony. Since blue is unpretentious and easy to style, deconstruction denim would be a workable option.
About the event:
The organizers of the event will visit a few fashion design colleges across India to have a brief discussion with the eligible participants.
After the discussion, based on the theme, the interested students who are willing to participate must submit their digital mood board which interprets the theme from the chosen category – Men’s, Women’s or Gender neutral, along with the two looks of the garment and 150 words brief which tells about the collection. A physical mood board is also to be submitted which includes the images and the fabric swatches.
The jury will then shortlist the top 10 finalists to compete in the finale. The shortlisted finalists will then receive INR 20,000/- per finalist for the construction of their 2 garments.
The top two winners will also stand a chance to receive cash prizes and an internship with Pepe Jeans or any one of the designers from the jury.
