Fashion Marketing And Content: A Talk by Adithya Bharadwaj @JDTalks
Fashion Marketing and Fashion Content although very different from one another, they work hand-in-hand. Fashion marketing can be defined as the branch of marketing that deals with the advertising of apparels and accessories aiming at a specific market.On the other hand, fashion content is also a form of advertising however, it focuses more on the process.
The fashion market has most definitely grown to bring about many more branches that have found the interests of many young aspiring minds. Content marketing is the natural extension of the mindset that serves a brand well for exposure. To be a part of this industry, it is necessary to have the basic knowledge on fashion communication as it trains the mind to work as per the current and future requirements of the fashion industry.
JD Institute of Fashion Technology aims at providing its students with the best of the best industrial knowledge as well as strengthen the bond between the alumni and institute itself. Thus, the 3C’s – Conversations (Conv.), Community (Comm.) and Conference (Conf.) – committee was formed to bring industrial exposure to the students, build a bond between the industry and the aspiring young minds, as well as strengthen the bond between the institute and the alumni. Though gatherings are not a possibility during this on-going pandemic, the committee members began the series online, where various industrialists and renowned professionals were invited to address adn share their knowledge with the students.
As a part of the Conversations, the ‘Alumni Speaks @JDTalks’ was started, where the alumni of the institute were invited to share their experiences, knowledge and memories in the industry. Through this, the bond has been strengthened not just between the alumni and the institute, but also the students and their seniors.
The most recent series in the ‘Alumni Speaks’ was organised on 3rd February, as a webinar. The talk session was by Mr. Adithya Bharadwaj, an alumnus who completed his Post Graduation Diploma in Fashion Design and Business Management in the year 2020, is a fashion enthusiast with an expertise in Fashion Styling and Fashion Content Writing as well as an extended experience in Fashion marketing. Taking a step back, Mr. Adithya Bharadwaj humbly accepted the invitation by the institute to come back adn share his experiences and knowledge in the Fashion industry as a fresher.
He began his session with a warm welcome and introduction of himself and his achievements by far in the industry. He so very proudly claimed his title as a JEDIIIAN and shared his joyful memories of his college days, especially the International educational Tour to London. With a previous educational background in Commerce he shared about how his passion for Fashion and knowledge on marketing worked like a match made in heaven, when he stepped into the Fashion industry. Along with all the memories he built in the institute as a student, he shared his experience in the academic perspective. He advised and encouraged the students to take the opportunities offered by the institute to build their contacts as well as themselves, especially with the International educational tour that pre-COVID was organised annually.
Mr. Adithya Bharadwaj spoke about the scope and career opportunities that are available in the Industry for those with a spike of interest in Fashion Marketing and Fashion Content Writing and how as a fresher, one can achieve it.
Fashion marketing, as we all are aware, is a vast industry that has various departments within it, and on the other hand, fashion content writing is also one among the most in-demand requirements in the industry. However, without the right guidance and mentorship, one may seek more hardships in finding their place. Through webinar, the aspiring students were able to gain and learn the base of getting into either or both of these departments in the Fashion industry.
