It’s been 73 years since India marked its first Independence Day on August 15th 1947. The spirit of this day inspires and reminds us of our patriots and martyrs who sacrificed their lives to set our nation free.

To mark this occasion, JD Institute of Fashion Technology – Bangalore, celebrated this auspicious day with great respect and enthusiasm. The celebration began with Flag Hoisting by our Managing Trustee – Mr. Nealesh Dalal accompanied by our Management team, Staff, faculty members, and students. After the National Anthem, which raised patriotic fervour amongst the crowd, the event moved on with the performance by our students who took the stage and energised the audience with soulful songs. A bhangra performance by the Fashion Department helped everyone reminisce of our culture and made them proud  of being a part of India. Whereas, the students from Interior Department very well portrayed the life of soldiers through their dance. They also gave motivating speeches on the significance of Independence Day and awakened us on how our country has developed and reached certain heights.

Last but not the least, Mr. Babu Rajendra Prasad (Principal at JD) delivered an inspirational speech and appreciated all the students for making this celebration a grand success.

Every year JD Institute comes up with great initiatives and CSR activities. Last year, the institute had kick started  the power of being nice to people, country, animals and with oneself. This year, JD comes up with a new campaign – ‘UN’. The world is filled with barriers and it is our duty to Undo it. This Independence Day let us unite and #UNPOLLUTE, #UNTABOO, #UNDIVIDE, #UNBAIS and make India a better place for all.
